A look at appearance and memory
Our eyes dart around, looking at faces in a crowd. Someone sticks out and their image lingers, others fade and are forgotten. I asked 50 people to play my Memory game and match ten pairs of faces with each other, to see who gets the least clicks and who the most. This is the result of my exploration and shows you, which heads made the most impression and which ones less so. The viewer is welcome to join me in my little experiment by playing the “Remember me?” Memory game (coming soon).

ROTO
This project looks at a detail of water management in Addis Abeba, today. The so called Roto tanks are everywhere and have become a symbol: “I want a back-up, in case the water supply fails.” A common attitude in a place where water can be gone for days on end.
Born and raised in this city, my pictures do more for me than just demand action by expressing criticism . They speak of the circumstances we (Ethiopians) live in now and sometimes even contain traces of history. It turns out the tanker phenomenon is not new at all, but will hopefully become redundant in the future.

The housewives of Den Haag have come to me, asking for help in devising a campaign:
“We are outraged and its time for action.”
Calling home the less than ideal husbands, who have been sighted in the bars, nightclubs and red-light districts of the city. As jealousy eats away at the hearts of the outraged wives and girlfriends, I started a call for a change in male mentality.
So come on home boys, dinner is getting cold…
